  • National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
    The NIMH is the government organization whose mission is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure.
  • Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)
    The mission of DBSA is to provide hope, help, and support to improve the lives of people living with mood disorders.  DBSA pursues and accomplishes this mission through peer-based, recovery-oriented, empowering services and resources when people want them, where they want them, and how they want to receive them.
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
    NAMI provides education, support, and systems advocacy to empower families and persons with mental illness.  Affiliate self-help and grassroots advocacy groups located nationwide offer emotional support and information about treatment and community resources.
  • Mental Health America (MHA)
    MHA addresses the full spectrum of mental and substance use conditions and their effects nationwide, and works to inform, advocate, and enable access to quality behavioral health services for all Americans.

  • International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF)
    International Bipolar Foundation is a not for profit organization based in San Diego whose mission is to eliminate Bipolar Disorder through the advancement of research; to promote and enhance care and support services; and to erase associated stigma through public education.
  • National Council for Mental Wellbeing
    The National Council is the unifying voice of America’s behavioral health organizations.  It serves adults and children with mental illnesses and addiction disorders and is committed to providing comprehensive, quality care that affords every opportunity for recovery and inclusion in all aspects of community life.
  • American Association of Suicidology (AAS)
    The goal of AAS is to understand and prevent suicide.  AAS promotes research, public awareness programs, public education, and training for professionals and volunteers.  In addition, AAS serves as a national clearinghouse for information on suicide.
  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)
    The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the nation’s leading organization bringing together people across communities and backgrounds to understand and prevent suicide, and to help heal the pain it causes. Individuals, families, and communities who have been personally touched by suicide are the moving force behind everything we do.

    Comprehensive suicide prevention information and resources.
  • – Suicide Prevention, Awareness, and Support’s mission is to prevent suicides, support suicide survivors, and educate the public about suicide.
  • Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA)
    The mission of the ADAA is to promote the prevention, treatment, and cure of anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders through education, practice, and research.  You can search on the ADAA website for a therapist.

    The mission of Bring Change 2 Mind is to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness through widely distributed Public Education Materials based on the latest scientific insights and measured for effectiveness.

    Active Minds is the leading nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking.  We are changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities and advocacy training to the next generation.
